સુનાઇ દેતી હૈ જિસકી ધડકન..... - ગુલામી
હું English ગીતો ઘણાં જ ઓછા સાંભળું છું. એનું સૌથી મોટુ કારણ એ કે મને મોટા ભાગે એના શબ્દો નથી પકડાતા. અને શબ્દો જ ખબર ના પડે, તો મને સાંભળવાની જરા મઝા નથી આવતી. ( શબ્દો વગરનું વાદ્યસંગીત અલગ વાત છે... હરિપ્રસાદ ચૌરસિયાની વાંસળી કે શિવકુમાર શર્માનું સંતૂર વાગતું હોય, તો મને શબ્દોની ખાસ જરૂરત નથી લાગતી). જો કે ભાઇ મને કહેતા.. English ગીતો સાંભળવાનો એક ફાયદો.. જેટલી વાર સાંભળો એટલી વાર નવું લાગે. :))
હા, તો હું એમ કહેતી હતી કે મારા માટે શબ્દો સમઝવા જરૂરી છે. પરંતુ એમાં અપવાદ છે આ 'ગુલામી' ફિલ્મનું ગીત. મને એની પહેલી કળી જ નથી સમઝાતી. સમઝવું તો બાજુ પર, એના શબ્દો પણ બરાબર નથી પકડાતા. "ઝિહાલે મસ્કીન મુકુન બરંજીશ" કે પછી "જીહાલે.. મેં કુન બરંજીશ".. કે જે હોય તે... એ કઇ ભાષામાં શું કહે છે એ જરા નથી ખબર પડતી... પણ તે છતાં ય.. મારા સૌથી ગમતા ગીતોમાંનું એક છે આ ગીત.
આમ તો એની દરેક કડી સરસ છે... ઝરા ઝરા સી ખિલી તબિયત ઝરા સી ગમગીન હો ગઇ... તુમ્હારી પલકોં સે ગીરકે શબનમ હમારી આંખોમેં રૂક ગઇ હૈ.. પરંતુ જ્યારે આ કડી સાંભળું "તુમ્હારે સીને સે ઉઠતા ધુંઆ, હમારે દિલસે ગુઝર રહા હૈ"... એમ થાય કે... વાહ..!! ક્યા બાત હૈ..!!

One of my fav song and believe me I also searched so many places before I really got the meaning of this song!
zihaal-e-miskeen mukon ba-ranjish, bahaal-e-hijra bechara dil hai
zihaal = notice
miskeen = poor
mukon = do not
ba-ranjish = with ill will, with enimity
bahaal = fresh, recent
hijra = separation
Thus the meaning is:
Notice the poor (heart), and do not look at it (heart) with enimity.
It (heart) is fresh with the wounds of separation.
Hindi ma (and more clearly):
Ye dil judaai ke gamo se abhi bhi taaza hai.
Iski bechaargi ko ba-ranjish (without enimity) dekho.

And yes, to answer your question about the language of first two lines, they are written in Persian language.
The same language which Mirza Ghalib also used to write ghazals,whom we recite till today!!
The phrase "Zihaal-e-miskeen"
comes from a poem of Amir Khusro.
This original poem of Amir Khusro
is a unique masterpiece. The beautiful thing about this poem is that it it written in Persian and Brij bhasha simultaneously. The first line is in Persian, second in Brij bhasha, third in persian, and so on...!! What an unbelievable talent. And here are first four lines of
that poem.
zihaal-e-miskeen mukon taghaful (Persian)
doraaye nainaan banaye batyaan (Brij)
ke taab-e-hijraah nadarum-e-jaan (Persian)
na laihyo kaahe lagaye chatyaan (Brij)

Thanks Jayshree ! One of my favourite songs. In fact, picturisation of this song was also beautiful in probably Rajasthan's desert (again one of my favourite places on earth).
